Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday has been attributed to poor defence by Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses and Spanish defender, Cesar Azpilicueta.
Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness says the two right-full-backs were caught on lapses which Dele Alli capitalized on to punish the visitors.
Moses has been impressive as a wing-back in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, but he and Azpilicueta had a difficult time on Wednesday.
Souness told Sky Sports, “It was very hard for the forward players. Both teams were getting men behind the ball.
“The minute they lost it they got behind the ball, it was very difficult game for Costa and Harry Kane tonight. They didn’t get a second on the ball.
“Even Dele Alli said it when he talked about playing with his head and not his feet. He couldn’t get on the ball. “Chelsea play so compact and are so well-organised when they’re defending.
“The distances between the midfield players and the back four is minimal and it’s tailor-made for someone arriving late, like Dele Alli did on two occasions.
“Christian Eriksen can deliver through an eye of a needle, he did it twice and Dele Alli read the situation perfectly twice. “Twice he got between Victor Moses and Azpilicueta.
