Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has named seven English Premier League (EPL) players that have impressed him this season.
According to Neville, Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard, Manchester City stars, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester United duo, Luke Shaw and David De Gea, Liverpool’s James Milner and Virgil van Dijk are the EPL players that have impressed him this campaign.
The former England defender, however, said that Van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton for £75million last year, has impressed him the most.
Neville told Sky Sports, “Milner for Liverpool, who have been outstanding. Virgil van Dijk: outstanding. ‘Luke Shaw at Manchester United, I’ve been really pleased with him. I’ve got full belief in him and his talent. He just needs that break in terms of staying clear of injuries.
“Eden Hazard is a wonderful player. He probably is [the best in the league]. David Silva I love. De Bruyne is brilliant. [David] De Gea has been one of the top players over the last few years.
“They are the type of players who have impressed me most. “But Van Dijk – worryingly – has impressed me more than anybody. He’s just a fantastic central defender.”
