EPL: Gary Neville advises Mourinho on dropping Lukaku

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has urged manager Jose Mourinho to stick with Romelu Lukaku through this goal drought.

Lukaku has gone eight games without scoring and has only managed four goals in 13 appearances this season.

Mourinho still believes in Lukaku and Neville says he should keep playing him until he rediscovers his goalscoring touch.

“He’s got to keep playing him. I think if you’ve got a player like Lukaku who has proved himself over a long period of time, then you play them through those bits of bad form.

“You continue to give them that belief because you know full well they’re still contributing when they’re not playing well.

“I think that unless a player like Lukaku is feeling so down that he feels as though a break will do him good, you try and keep him playing and the top players tend to play through those dips in form,” Neville, who was speaking at the book launch for his class of ‘92 pal Ben Thornley on Thursday, said.
