EPL: Fowler speaks on Salah’s form, lack of goals for Liverpool

Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler, has said that Mohamed Salah will rediscover his goalscoring boots but believes that it will be difficult for him to repeat his heroics from last season.

After joining the Reds in the summer transfer window in 2017 from Roma, Salah scored over 40 goals for Liverpool in a debut season at Anfield.

The Egyptian performances helped Liverpool finished in the top four of the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid.

This season, Salah has scored only three goals in 11 appearances and has netted just once since the start of September.

Fowler is not concerned by his lack of form, however, he said the forward will still score ‘a lot of goals’ for Liverpool this season.

“I’m not saying he’s having a bad year so far. He’s still a good player, he’s still an excellent player but to replicate what he did last year will be unbelievable,” Fowler told Sky Sports.

“I think he’ll still score goals, I think he’ll still score a lot of goals.

“What I like about Mo Salah is that his work ethic is brilliant, he doesn’t shy away from anything. What I would be more worried about is if he wasn’t getting chances.

“He will bang the goals in. I’m not sure he’ll hit the heights he did last year but he is still a magnificent player.

“He will still be a danger throughout the Premier League [season].”
