Manchester United head coach, Jose Mourinho was on Tuesday charged by the English Premier League (EPL) Football Association for allegedly using abusive language following his side’s 3-2 win over Newcastle two weeks ago.

Mourinho’s tactical switch in the second half of the match helped United turn a 2-0 deficit, with midfielder, Juan Mata, forwards, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez, getting on the score-sheet as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the Red Devils.

According to Sky Sports, the FA stated that Mourinho’s language at the end of the encounter against Rafael Benitez’s men was improper.

The Portuguese gaffer has until October 19 to respond to the charge.

“It is alleged that his [Mourinho] language at the end of the fixture, as captured by the broadcast footage, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper.

“He has until 6pm on October 19 to respond to the charge,” read a statement from the FA.

Mourinho’s side will take on Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge.
