Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has spoken about playmaker, Mesut Ozil’s performance in their 2-1 victory over Cardiff City in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette gave Unai Emery’s men all three points against Cardiff City.
However, a goal from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was not enough to give the visitors a point against Arsenal.
Emery said Ozil did what was expected of him on his first start since Boxing Day in Arsenal’s win over Cardiff.
When asked about Ozil’s display, Emery was quoted by Sky Sports as saying at a post-match: “He worked like we wanted. “His performance was good.”
Emery added: “We are happy. The difference in the match was small details.
“We struggled a lot in this much but it’s a very important three points. Newcastle won, Burnley drew with Manchester United and we won.
“We played better in the second half, controlled the match and created more chances to score.
“Overall I think we deserved the result in the second half. We worked how we wanted. We are doing things our way and we are happy because our players worked a lot.”
