Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has explained why he dropped playmaker, Mesut Ozil from his side’s 1-0 defeat by West Ham United in the Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Ozil was left out of the matchday squad for their trip to West Ham.
A second half goal from Declan Rice gave the hosts all three points against the Gunners at the London Stadium.
Emery said he did not feature Ozil against West Ham due to tactical reasons, claiming that the midfielder has trained normally all week.
When asked to explain why Ozil was left out, Emery was quoted by Goal as telling reporters after the match: “I decided the players who are the best for this match. We win with him [Ozil] and lose with him. Not one player is for sale.”
Emery added: “He’s working this week normally. Like I said we win with him and lose with him. Today the decision is to come with these players.”
