Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been confirmed as Manchester United’s permanent manager, but will earn just half of Jose Mourinho’s wages at Old Trafford, the UK Mirror reports.
Solskjaer has put pen to paper on a three-year contract worth £7.5million-a-year.
He replaced Mourinho as caretaker boss in December, after the Portuguese oversaw the worst start for United in Premier League history.
Solskjaer has gone on to win 14 of his 19 matches in charge, leading United to within two points of the top four and into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
But he will be paid just a fraction of the £15million salary Mourinho earned during his tenure.
