Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea has reportedly told the club that he wants to be among the club’s top earners if he is to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.
According to Evening Standard, the 27-year-old is currently receiving just under £200,000-a-week and he wants to be earning the same amount as fellow teammates, Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, who both make over £300,000-a-week.
United have the option to extend the Spaniard’s contract by another year in the summer but are obviously keen to tie him down on a long-term basis.
De Dea, who is United’s best player for four out of last five seasons, won the Premier League Golden Glove award in May, 2017.
He arrived at the club in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and has more capital in the bank than Sanchez or Pogba put together in terms of service to the club.
