EPL: David Luiz finally extends contract with Chelsea, gives reason

Chelsea defender, David Luiz on Friday signed a contract extension with the club.

Luiz said he signed the new contract because he wants to remain at the club, adding that he loves the Blues.

The 32-year-old will remain at Stamford Bridge until 2021.

Speaking after extending his contract at Chelsea, the Brazilian told the club’s official website: “I am so happy to be here and to have this opportunity to stay. I love this club and I still have the ambition of a young player.

“It means a lot to reach another European final, and we still have the opportunity to finish in the top three of the Premier League this season and I will continue to try to do my best to help the team.”

Luiz has scored 18 goals in 246 appearances in all competitions for the West London club.
