Chelsea first-choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois’ camp have informed Real Madrid that the player is ready to join them.
The Belgian’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in 18 months and he is reluctant to put pen to paper.
AS reports that Madrid have given a favourable response to the interest from Courtois’s side.
Courtois had earlier denied that he postponed talks over a new deal at the club, because he is waiting for an offer from the La Liga giants.
He had said, “The reason why I’ve decided to wait is because we have a lot of games coming up and I want my mind to focus on this.
“Everyone knows that my personal [family] situation pulls me to Spain — if not now, then in the years to come,” he told La Sexta.
The Belgian’s two children live with his ex-girlfriend in Madrid, limiting the amount of time he gets to spend with them during the English football.
However, Sevilla’s Sergio Rico and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak top Antonio Conte’s list should Courtois leave the Blues.
