EPL: Chelsea get Conte’s replacement

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is ready to leave Italy and replace his countryman, Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

The Blues have had disastrous defence of their Premier League crown.

Following their defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, it now looks certain they will be out of the top four to compete in the next Chamions League. A source in Turin told The Sun, UK, that Allegri has shown willingness to take charge of Chelsea.

Allegri is currently preparing for Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

On Monday, Allegri revealed that he was already thinking about life after Juventus and wants to leave Italy, telling the Telegraph, “Certainly I will go abroad. In Italy, finished.”

The Sun report said Allegri is “all set” to step in at Chelsea just as soon as compatriot Conte has been sacked.

Allegri replaced Conte at Juventus four years ago and took them to the final of the Champions League twice.

Allegri, who is already learning English, had talks with Arsenal about replacing Arsene Wenger last summer, but now looks likely to move to west London instead.

Conte looks increasingly likely to leave Chelsea and return to Italy.
