Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has issued out warning to midfielder, N’Golo Kante following his side’s 2-0 victory over Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kante, who played a starring role for the Blues, set up the first goal for forward, Pedro, before midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a late goal in the second half of the encounter to give Sarri’s side a deserved three points.
The France international is still getting used to playing in a more advanced role as Jorginho is Sarri’s preferred choice at the defensive midfield.
Sarri has, however, warned Kante that he needs to improve tactically going forward, adding that the midfielder played very well against Fulham.
“I think Kante played very well, he defended very well,” Sarri was quoted by Express UK as saying at post-match.
“He needs to improve a little more from the tactical point of view, but that is natural.
“Last season he played with two or three midfielders but in central, so he needs to improve tactically.
“I remember only one mistake in the first half. With the ball on the other side, he has to stay very close to Jorginho.
“Otherwise it’s a big problem for us.
“Jorginho can cut out passes from the opposition, but he’s not very strong at closing the open spaces.”
Sarri’s men will now tackle Wolves in an away Premier League fixture on Wednesday night.
Chelsea are currently occupying the third positions in the Premier League log with 31 points from 14 games.
