EPL: Chelsea board in talks to replace Sarri with Zidane

Chelsea board has held talks over appointing former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, as a replacement for Maurizio Sarri, the UK Sun reports.

Zidane has been out of work, since stepping down from his role with Real, after winning a third straight Champions League crown last May.

Sarri is now the bookmaker’s favourite, to be the next Premier League manager to be fired, with Zidane joint-favourite to replace him along with Gianfranco Zola.

Chelsea’s emphatic 6-0 defeat at City saw them slump to sixth place, putting the Italian under renewed pressure.

Discussions have taken place among top brass at Stamford Bridge, about when they should make their move for Zidane.

They also feel Zidane would be an inspired choice, as Eden Hazard is a big admirer of the Frenchman and might consider snubbing a move to Spain in the summer if he is appointed.
