EPL: Cech reveals who is to blame for Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton

Arsenal first-choice goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has taken full responsibility for their 2-1 defeat at Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League.

Cech conceded two goals in the opening 26 minutes.

He was first beaten to the ball by Shane Duffy, before Lewis Dunk fired in the opener. The Czech then allowed a Glenn Murray header squirm under his body for the second.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was able to pull one back shortly before the break, but Arsenal were unable to force an equaliser in the second half.

“If you want to win a game away of home in the best league in the world your GK can’t concede 2 goals like I did today.

“It’s simply not possible. The team fought back but the damage was done,” Cech tweeted.

It was the Gunners’ fourth successive defeat in all competitions, a result which leaves them a huge 13 points outside the top four, with just nine games of the season remaining.
