EPL: Berbatov reveals what Dybala’s snub did to Man Utd

Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Juventus forward, Paulo Dybala, did the club a favour by passing up the opportunity to join this summer.

Dybala was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in a swap deal that would have seen Romelu Lukaku sign for the Serie A champions.

But the Argentine decided to stay put in Turin while Lukaku completed a transfer to Inter Milan.

Berbatov says Dybala’s arrival to United might have caused problems.

He told the Daily Star: “It’s difficult to see where he [would] fit.

“He’s got a great left foot with good vision. The only thing I’d worry about is if he can get used to the English way of playing football.

“It’s interesting to see what will happen.”

Speaking on the potentially disruptive influence Dybala would have, Berbatov said, “When you have quality players, it’s a luxury to know that if one gets injured you have a great one who can come in.

“But that’s not good for the players themselves. They’ll be moaning and not happy, so you have to be careful who you buy.”
