Arsenal midfielder, Mohamed Elneny, has had his red card overturned by the Football Association.

The Gunners launched an appeal against Elneny’s sending off against Southampton on Sunday, using TV footage from different angles which they insist cleared him of violent conduct.

Referee Andre Marriner had already sent off Jack Stephens after a bust-up with Jack Wilshere, before Elneny squared up with Cedric Soares afterwards.

“Mohamed Elneny will be available for Arsenal’s next three games after an Independent Regulatory Commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Southampton on Sunday 8 April 2018,” an FA statement said.

It is a huge relief for Arsenal, as they would have lost Elneny for three games.

Manager Arsene Wenger, has already lost midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the rest of the season, unless they reach the Europa League final.
