EPL: Arsenal v Chelsea: What I told Moses before the match – Conte

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has revealed that he told his right-back, Victor Moses and left-back, Marcos Alonso to get into goal scoring positions in the match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Moses struggled offensively and defensively in the game, though all the goals came after he was substituted in the second half of the encounter.

Alonso, however, stole the limelight from Moses by netting his sixth goal of the season, becoming the top scoring defender in Europe’s top five leagues in the process.

Chelsea defended Moses afterwards, saying he was carrying a knock in the first half and had to make way for Zappacosta.

Conte told Chelsea’s official website, ”I asked our wing-backs [Moses and Alonso] to fill the box and try to score and don’t forget, he (Alonso) also is good with his head also and with free-kicks.

”He is in a good period and his confidence is up, and I am very happy for him.”

The Nigerian international scored his last goal in the Premier League against Tottenham on November 26, 2016.
