Europa League finalists, Arsenal will face Newcastle in their opening game of the 2019/20 campaign on Sunday. The Gunners are expected to be without several top players for the game with some of them being ruled out by injury.

Star midfielder, Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac are not expected to play a part in the match because of “further security incidents”.

Arsenal confirmed on their website that they are liaising with police and “providing the players and their families with ongoing support”

Further, new signing Kieran Tierney is still recovering from a groin injury and is not expected back for another four to six weeks.

However, David Luiz is expected to participate in full training and will be available for Sunday’s match while Nicolas Pepe is still in the process of regaining his match fitness.

Top striker, Alexandre Lacazette is still a doubt following the ankle injury he picked up in a pre-season friendly against Lyon at the end of July.

Gunners’ right-back, Hector Bellerin (knee injury) is not expected back until October, Rob Holding (knee) is participating in training but is not match-fit.

Arsenal’s predicted line-up vs Newcastle:

Formation is 4-2-3-1.

Leno, Monreal, Sokratis, Luiz, Maitland-Niles; Torreira, Xhaka; Mkhitaryan, Willock, Nelson; Aubameyang.
