EPL: Arsenal identifies Chelsea, Man United stars as top January transfer targets

Arsenal have identified Chelsea defender, Gary Cahill and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly as their top January transfer targets.

Bailly has recently fallen out of favour with manager, Jose Mourinho at United, while Cahill is unwanted by Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri and has been told he can leave Stamford Bridge on loan with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

According to ESPN, the Gunners want both Bailly and Cahill to move to Emirates next year to solve their defensive injury crisis.

Unai Emery’s side have lost defender, Rob Holding for the rest of the season to a ruptured cruciate ligament and want defensive reinforcements.

Arsenal are unbeaten in 21 games so far this campaign, but they are looking to strengthen in January to keep that run going and close the gap on the Premier League top two, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Emery’s men will tackle Qarabag FK on Thursday night in the Europa League fixture.
