Premier League giants, Arsenal have been cleared to sign Ajax left-back, Nicolas Tagliafico after the player’s agent, Ricardo Schlieper, confirmed his desire to leave the club this summer.
According to Schlieper, Tagliafico refused to sign a new contract with Ajax.
DAILY POST recalls that Arsenal had identified Tagliafico as the player that will replace 33-year-old defender, Nacho Monreal at Emirates.
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery believes Tagliafico will be the solution to his side’s left-back problem next season.
Tagliafico’s current contract with Ajax will end in 2022.
“Ajax made an offer, but it wasn’t accepted because it’s the right time to take a leap,” Schlieper told Muy Independiente Radio.
“Let’s see what happens in the market. “There has been no talk of numbers with Ajax, but they will ask for a significant amount – I think it will be more than €20million [£17m].”
