EPL: Arsenal board takes decision on future of Lacazette, Aubameyang

The Arsenal board have decided to secure the future of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the DailyMail reports.

Both strikers scored all the goals as the Gunners defeated Valencia 7-3 on aggregate to qualify for the final of the Europa League.

Lacazette netted twice and Aubameyang once in the 3-1 win at the Emirates before Aubameyang scored a hat-trick and Lacazette the other in a 4-2 victory in Spain.

Talks are planned this summer to extend the contracts of the pair as Arsenal look to avoid further loss of key players.

Aubameyang has proved to be a major asset since his £56m move from Borussia Dortmund in January last year.

The 29-year-old has two years left on his £190,000 a week contract and the club wants to extend it by two years and that would put 29-year-old Aubameyang in the £250,000 a week bracket.

A similar wage would be offered to Lacazette. The 27-year-old has scored seven goals fewer than his strike partner, but he has proved an ideal complement. His deal expires in 2022.
