Premier League legend, Alan Shearer has singled out the likes of Marcos Alonso and Eden Hazard as the two Chelsea players that were outstanding in their side’s 1-0 defeat by Leicester City on Saturday in the Premier League.
He also blamed the Blues defensive midfielders for not protecting the back four defenders.
A second half goal from striker Jamie Vardy ensured Leicester City defeated Maurizio Sarri’s men at Stamford Bridge.
“Other than Alonso and Hazard there wasn’t much creativity all afternoon,” Shearer was quoted by Thisisfutbol as saying.
“There wasn’t that reaction from them that you’d expect when they went behind and there was a lack of protection in front of the back four. Leicester deserved to win that game.”
Chelsea will now tackle Watford on Boxing Day in their next Premier League fixture.
