Ajax captain, Matthijs de Ligt, has decided not to make a move to Manchester United in this summer’s transfer window.
De Ligt, who has drawn interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in recent weeks, rejected the possibility of joining the Red Devils at the end of the season, the Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old turned down a deal worth £60million to move to Old Trafford.
“Matthijs is going to become the best defender in the world,” Daily Star quoted De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiiola as saying.
“He will have the choice to join whoever he wants, but he has no interest in going to United. They are not the attractive proposition they once were.
“He knows he is in a strong bargaining position because his stock has risen so fast. He’s one of the most in demand stars on the planet.”
