Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has said that Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero is the best foreign player in the Premier League history.
Aguero signed for City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and has scored 146 goals for the Premier League champions so far.
The Argentine international scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 thumping against Huddersfield Town in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.
Aguero’s treble against Town saw him move into the EPL’s top 10 all-time scoring list.
Shearer, who is currently the EPL’s highest goal scorer with 260 goals, said Aguero is more prolific than any overseas player.
“He [Aguero] was deadly again,” Shearer told Premier League’s official website.
“He’s now on nine Premier League hat-tricks and only two behind me.
“The best foreign player to play in the Premier League. A great centre-forward with no weaknesses,” he said.
Aguero’s goals have fired City to three Premier League titles and a trio of EFL Cups.
He won the Premier League Golden Boot award at the end of the 2014-15 season.
