Former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba, have decided not to renew Ifeanyi Onuigbo’s contract after it expired.
According to reports, the striker did not travel back to Aba with the People’s Elephant, after their game against IfeanyiUbah FC last weekend, which they lost 1-0.
“Enyimba FC would like to announce the contract expiration of striker Ifeanyi Onuigbo. We thank him for his contributions to the team and we wish him all the best,” the two-time African champions announced on Thursday.
Onuigbo joined Enyimba from Heartland during the mid-season transfer window.
The forward, who has previously played in Vietnam and Libya, did not score a single goal during his stint with Enyimba.
