Head coach of Enyimba Kadiri Ikhana, has insisted that the Aba club has put behind their CAF Champions League exit and were now fully concentrating on the Nigeria Professional Football League and the Federation Cup.

The People’s Elephant were dumped out of the continent by Egyptian side Smouha SC two weeks ago.

However Enyimba are back in action this weekend, in a top-of-the-table clash against Kano Pillars in Kano, where they have not won in three seasons.

“We are about forgetting our ouster from the CAF Champions League even though we saw it coming that it would be difficult to qualify, based on the experience we had with the officiating. We ought to have closed up the tie in Aba but with only a goal advantage to Alexandria it would always be hard. We have learnt our lesson and life must go on,” Ikhana told Goal.

“We have a tough match against Pillars this weekend and we don’t want anything to distract us from our preparation.

“We will kick start our season with the match and we want to get a good result in Kano to serve as consolation for our loss in the Caf Champions league.”
