Enyimba will be without striker, Mfon Udoh, for their remaining Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches.
The former Akwa United players, sustained a deep cut above his eye, in a Match Day 36 fixture against MFM FM which ended goalless in Port Harcourt.
Their final two games are against IfeanyiUbah FC and traditional rivals, Shooting Stars. There is also an outstanding match against Abia Warriors.
Udoh, who was replaced in the last game by Joseph Osadiaye, has been advised by medics to stay away from the upcoming matches.
“I picked a deep cut on my eye in the NPFL matchday 36 clash against Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC on Sunday in Port Harcourt,” he told SuperSport.
“That was why Joseph Osadiaye came in to take my position in the encounter.
“The cut is deep and severe though immediate treatment has commenced on the injury.
“The doctors have, however, ruled me out of the remaining two matches on the calendar, the ones involving FC IfeanyiUbah, 3SC as well as the rescheduled tie against Abia Warriors.
“The advice is to allow for proper healing of the wound so it’s almost that my season has ended with the clash against MFM FC.
“It’s sad that we will not be able to defend the league crown however we hope to return to the continent through the Federation Cup.”
Enyimba are currently seventh on the table with 50 points.
