Enyimba are eager to land coach Gbenga Ogunbote, ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The seven-time Nigerian champions, are reportedly putting together a deal to lure Ogunbote from Shooting Stars.
“Ogunbote is certainly a major target for the two-time African champions though they will refuse to admit it until they get their man. Right now they are working on a contract for him, so it will be really, really difficult that it won’t happen unless one of the parties bulk at the terms,” supersport.com was told on Friday.
Enyimba are yet to reveal their plans for the next campaign, after a disappointing season under coach Paul Aigbogun, who is currently on vacation.
Ogunbote has however declared himself “a free agent”.
“Right now I am available to talk to any club. I am a free agent,” he told Brila FM, a sports radio based in Nigeria.
