Enyimba have won the NPFL – Anyasi-Agwu

Chairman of Enyimba, Felix Anyasi-Agwu, has declared that his team are already winners of the Nigeria Professional Football League, even with seven round of matches yet to be played.

The Aba team, who have won the title six times in the past, defeated Wikki Tourists 2-0 in Aba on Sunday, to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Enyimba currently have 58 points, five clear of second-placed Sunshine Stars.

“This victory (2-0 at home against Wikki) that the league has been won today,” Anyasi-Agwu said.

“We have seen the trophy and we cannot lose it now.

“The players have motivated themselves because of the opportunities it will bring for not just the club but for themselves as well.

“You cannot underrate anybody and there was a lot of hype around this match and every club is fighting. And we didn’t want anyone to come and spoil our party.

“And after crossing this hurdle, it is now clear who will be champions and it will not be easy for any club to topple us.”
