Enyimba of Aba are back on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after a 1-0 victory over champions Kano Pillars, in a Week 24 fixture played on Wednesday.
The six-time champions had Ifeanyi George to thank as he converted a 28th minute penalty after a Pillars defender handled the ball inside the area.
It was coach Mohammed Babaganaru’s first defeat, since he took over Pillars in the second round of the league.
Enyimba now have 45 points from 24 games, displacing Sunshine Stars who failed to pick up maximum points at Dolphins. .
