Technical Adviser of Enyimba, Paul Aigbogun, has admitted that the club is not looking to win the 2016 CAF Champions League title.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, won the competition in 2003 and 2004, but have not impressed recently on the continent.

They last progressed past the group stages in 2011 and Aigbogun has sought to play down expectations.

“I never set out to win the Champions League trophy with Enyimba this year,” he said.

“That will be looking too far ahead. My target is to do better than they did last year when Enyimba was beaten in the first round by Egyptian club Smouha.

“The target for now is to win our preliminary round tie in the competition and get into the next round.” . Enyimba will face Ugandan club Vipers in the preliminary round of the competition.
