Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama, was sent off as Lille were held to a 1-1 draw at Rennes in Ligue on Friday night.
Enyeama was adjudged to have brought down Giovanni Sio, as he ran through on goal and referee Stephane Jochem produced a straight red card.
A penalty kick was also awarded despite the visitor’s protests, but substitute keeper, Mike Maigan saved Paul-Georges Ntep’s kick.
Lille went on to take the lead in the 49th minute through Sofiane Boufal, but Ntep levelled for the home side.
This is the first time Enyeama will be sent off in the French League and he is likely to be banned for one game, which would see him miss their next game against Reims.
