Traders in Enugu State, under the auspices of the Enugu State Amalgamated Traders Association (ESMATA) will on Thursday, June 15, 2017 organize a solidarity rally in support of the good works of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in transforming the state despite the severe economic challenges in the country.
The traders said that the rally is also in appreciation of the governor’s empowerment programmes “carefully designed to assist the traders in Enugu State grow their businesses to improve their fortunes” and stimulate the economy of the state.
A statement signed by thePresident-General of the Association, Hon. Temple Ude,stated that the rally will be unprecedented in the history of the state as “all the markets in the state will be shut-down on Thursday, June 15, 2017 and all roads will lead to Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, where excited traders will converge en masse to appreciate and celebrate our traders-friendly Governor for his support and good governance”.
Hon. Ude advised residents of the state “to store food stuff and other needed items ahead of Thursday as the plan to shut-down the markets to celebrate Gov. Ugwuanyi was a unanimous decision of the traders in the state”, adding that they are full of gratitude to the governor for his empowerment programme where 100 lucky traders win N50,000.00 every month through a transparent raffle draw.
He added that the rally will offer the traders a unique opportunity to interact with the governor and take far reaching decisions that would further improve their fortunes as well as sustain the progress of the state.
While calling on all traders in the state to come out en masse to participate in the programme, the President-General equally urged other residents of the state, friends and supporters of the governor to also come and witness the epoch-making event aimed at rewarding excellence and good governance.
It would be recalled that Gov. Ugwuanyi, recently flagged off a monthly empowerment scheme for the traders in the state, tagged “Enugu State Traders Empowerment Scheme” to assist them grow their various businesses for the socio-economic development of the state.
