The Enugu State command of the Nigerian police has confirmed the killing of Festus Eze, a staff of the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesman Mr. Ebere Amaraizu , he said the victim was beaten up during a departmental election in the institution. He added that Eze was rushed to Memfins Hospital Trans-Ekulu Enugu, where he was confirmed dead.
“The staff was allegedly beaten up by yet to be identified group of students during a departmental election.
“He was later rushed to Memfins Hospital, Trans-Ekulu Enugu but was confirmed dead by the Doctor on duty”,
Amaraizu stated, adding that “the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Hospital Mortuary of Ntasiobi Specialist Hospital for autopsy”.
DailyPost had learnt that the command has commenced full scale investigations into the incident.
