This is even as the former chairman of the PDP in Enugu State, Engr. Vita Abba, who is Governor Chime’s candidate, lost the election for the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Constituency to Engr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede.

DAILY POST correspondent, who monitored the exercise observed that the authentic delegates were denied access to some of election venues by the faction loyal to Governor Chime.

This was evident in places like Udi-Ezeagu Federal Constituency.

However, in the parallel primary election conducted by the Ekweremadu faction, the House Committee Chairman on Works, Hon Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, and House Committee Chairman on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon Offor Chukwegbo emerging winners in Ezeagu-Udi and Enugu North-Enugu South federal constituencies respectively.

Also, the member representing Awgu-Aninri-Oji River federal constituency, Hon Toby Okechukwu, a first-term lawmaker, was returned un-opposed through affirmation as three contestants stepped down for him.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who cast his vote at Awgu local government headquartres venue of the primary election, described the exercise as free, fair and peaceful.

Similarly, the chairman of the PDP election panel, Sen Anthony Manzo who addressed the crowd at Awgu, commended the delegates and constituents for conducting themselves peacefully and assured that his panel will ensure free and fair primaries in the state.

Manzo also visited Nkwo Nike, headquartres of Enugu East local government area, venue of Isiuzo-Enugu East federal constituency primary election, where Hon, Kingsley Ebenyi emerged winner.
