The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has defeated his closest rival, Barr. Okey Ezea of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with a wide margin.
He scored 482,277 as against Ezea’s 43,837.
Results collated and announced by INEC from the 17 local governments areas in the State show that Hon. Ugwuanyi maintained lead in all the councils.
But the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer, Chief Okey Ezea cried fowl saying that what happened in Enugu was not an election but a charade.
He said the election was rigged by the employment of imported thugs and security agents.
Also the state chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to outrightly cancel the election.
The results also showed that Ezea, for the first time lost in his local government, (Igboeze South) to Hon. Ugwuanyi.
In the two previous elections contested by Ezea, he won in his local government.
