Enrique unsure of Pedro’s future as Chelsea eye bid for forward

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, has admitted that he does not know if Pedro will stay at the club, amid reported interest from Chelsea.

The Spain international was the fourth-choice forward last season and his future was further thrown into doubt, after the club signed Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid this summer.

Pedro confirmed on Monday, that Barcelona have received offers for him and Enrique has said he would be powerless, if the 27-year-old’s release clause of €30million is activated.

Speaking at a press conference, Enrique said: “I do not want him to go, but there is a clause and the player must decide.

“I hope that the relationship will not break, but I respect his decision. (Marc) Bartra is in a similar situation and he stayed.

“I do not want any player in the squad to leave, (but) I will not lie to any player and I will not promise any player minutes.”

Enrique is also unsure if he will bring in more players, after Turan and Aleix Vidal arrived this summer.

He added: “I made requests and they have been fulfilled. Now I do not know if players will leave and others will come”.
