Harry Kane netted a stoppage-time winner, as England began their 2018 World Cup campaign, with a 2-1 win over Tunisia on Monday night.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker had opened scoring in the 11th minute.

Speaking after the match, Kane expressed excitement about winning the first match of the tournament.

“Massive; It was tough. We could have scored a bit more but we did well”, he told SuperSport.

“We spoke about togetherness, we had a great bond and that shows tonight.”

On whether England should have been awarded a penalty, Kane said his team deserved at least one.

“We should have got a penalty. It’s tough, It’s the ref’s call. That’s the World Cup, that’s football.

“But we showed character and we got a compensation putting one behind the net at the last minute.”
