England coach, Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Luke Shaw was ‘up and talking’ after suffering a head injury while playing for England against Spain at Wembley.
The Shaw’s head collided with a Spanish Player and Shaw needed to be stretchered off, after receiving oxygen on the pitch.
The incident was heart breaking, but the defender was soon awake in the dressing room and talking to the doctors.
Southgate confirmed after the game that Shaw would need further assessment.
He said, “Luke Shaw is up and talking and will be assessed. He gave a great ball for the goal,” Metro UK quoted him as saying.
“Marcus Rashford had a great impact on the game. Joe Gomez’s defending was excellent.
“There are individual positives and as a collective they gave everything,” Southgate said.
The Manchester United player was not immediately rushed to the hospital and it seems the injury is not as serious as feared.
