Emmanuel sacks Udofia as Akwa Ibom commissioner, Akpabio gets appointment

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, on Wednesday, fired his Commissioner for Education, Paul Udofia.

No reason was given for the sack.

Udofia was immediately replaced with Victor Inoka.

The governor also announced the creation of Ministry of Labour, Productivity and Manpower Planning.

Ibanga Akpabio has been put in charge of the new ministry.

The new commissioners were sworn-in at the Government House, Uyo.

Ibanga Akpabio, a relative of former governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio, was vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state before his appointment.

“The governor has the right to sack any of his commissioners”, Commissioner for Information, Charles Udoh told newsmen.
