The Emir of Kano, and former CBN Governor, Mohammadu Sanusi had while shedding tears for the country over its terrible state, asserted that all leaders will account for their actions.
The Emir made this statement at in event inside the Africa House of the Kano Government House on Sunday where he became emotional while reflecting on the overwhelming problems of the country, and paused for few minutes in tears before he continued with his speech.
He advised the nation’s leaders to be prepared to account before God all their actions while presiding over the affairs of the country.
While lamenting, Mr Sanusi told the audience which included the Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje, that power was in the hands of leaders at all levels, hence they must account for their deeds at the end of it all.
He lauded the Governor for the love and concern shown towards the Kano Emirate Council, saying that the gesture will help build a strong relationship between the council and the state government.
The event was held to mark the end of eid-el-fitri festivities and is done to allow political leaders unveil their programmes and policy statements to the traditional leaders.
Mr. Ganduje, in his own speech said his major and immediate responsibility was to complete projects initiated by his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso. He said he will commence new as soon as pending projects are concluded.
