Emir Sanusi advocates support for Buhari’s fight against Boko Haram

As a way of entrenching peace in the country, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged Nigerians to support the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in its fight against Boko Haram insurgents.

The monarch made this call on Friday while addressing some Kano residents during the Eid el-Fitr prayer at the Kano Central Mosque.

Though with diverse backgrounds, he insisted that Nigerians needed peace in the country to fulfil the purpose of God for the country.

“These religious, ethnic and cultural differences, among others, should further unite and not divide Nigerians,” he said.

He further called on the residents of Kano to always live by the dictates of Islam and avoid sinful acts that could earn them the wrath of God.

While encouraging Muslims to pray for the sustenance of peace and stability in the state and country, he enjoined them to be law-abiding and live peacefully with one another for the development of the state.
