Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Bello Tambuwal has said that the emergency rule imposed on Adamawa State may soon be relaxed as security situation in the state has improved.

Tambuwal who spoke in Yola, yesterday, disclosed that due to the restoration of normalcy in the state, people are now going about with their normal businesses, an indication that the emergency rule has brought sanity into the once troubled state.

He said, “In the course of our interaction with the service chiefs, we learnt that the security situation in Adamawa has improved and I am sure that at the appropriate time, President Goodluck Jonathan will respond to the yearnings of the people and ease the emergency rule.”

The Speaker however, lauded the government and the people of the state for the support they rendered to security operatives during the emergency.

While reacting, Governor Murtala Nyako said that despite the hardship experienced by the people, residents have resolved to rally support for an enduring peace in the state.

He said that though, the people received the emergency rule with shock and mixed feelings, there was no report of ugly incidents even as soldiers and other security personnel continued to observe the rules of engagement.
