Two of the Super Eagles’ star performers, Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses, were left out of Thursday’s training session, after they picked up knocks in the 4-1 victory over Mali.
The team’s doctor, Ibrahim Gyaran, confirmed that he advised Stephen Keshi, to exclude the players from training, so they could undergo tests on the injuries they picked up.
Emenike is expected to return to training on Friday, after he showed signs of recovery from cramps, while Moses is still awaiting results of the scan he underwent.
Keshi had told journalists after the match that “We will know about that, probably (on Thursday). The doctor will have to go and do some scans so we will know better,” Keshi said on Wednesday.
“Hopefully, it’s not that bad. We will play (our next game) on Sunday. We just pray to God because we need everybody in the team. We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
The Big Boss will be hoping to have two of his key players in great shape for the final showdown against Burkina Faso o Sunday.
