Emmanuel Emenike attempted to leave the pitch yesterday, after Fenerbahce fans allegedly used racist chants on him.
In a fiery Istanbul derby, the Nigerian striker missed a great chance to give Fener the lead, when one-on-one with Volkan Demirel.
After the incident, Emenike tried to substitute himself, taking off his shirt and walking down the tunnel. His team-mates and coaching staff then persuaded him to return to the field. He was eventually taken off at half time and Pierre Webo came on in his place.
The ill-tempered match was heading for a goalless draw, until Moussa Sow volleyed in a late winner in the 91st minute.
Fenerbahce are now two points off Galatasaray at the top of the Turkish League. Gala knocked Besiktas off top spot, with a 3-2 win over Kasimpasa.
