The plane carrying former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike and his Fenerbahce team-mates to Manchester, was forced to perform an emergency landing on Wednesday.
A bird cracked the plane’s windshield shortly after take-off and the pilot had to steer the aircraft to safety at the Budapest Airport in Hungary.
“There is nothing alarming,” a tweet on Fenerbahce’s Twitter account said.
The Turkish team are billed to take on Manchester United, in a Europa League Group A fixture.
Fenerbahce are top of the group, one point ahead of Thursday night’s hosts United.
Former United striker, Robin van Persie, could start against his former club, but manager Dick Advocaat was critical of his performance following the 1-1 draw with Alanyaspor last weekend.
“Strikers must score goals,” Advocaat said.
“They want to score but they did not. You have to ask, why not?
“If you want to play for the championship you need more. And I don’t just mean Van Persie, I mean the total team.”
