Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike, has backed the club to win the Turkish championship again, following a 5-0 hammering of Gaziantespor on Saturday.
Emenike opened scoring for his team in the 7th, as they marched to the top of the table with 46 points from 20 matches, two points ahead of second-placed Besiktas.
“It was a sweet victory for the team, we showed great team spirit which is good for us as champions,” Emenike told AfricanFootball.com
“Every game is important for us to retain the league title, this is the best time for me and the entire team to keep working hard because this is the toughest time in the season and we must always be ready to conquer.
“I am really happy for my display and that of the team in the game and I believe there is more is coming from us in subsequent games.”
Emenike, who went on a barren run from last year, spoke on rediscovering his goalscoring touch again and vowed to keep up with it.
He said: “I have always maintain that I am still a player I was last year. I am much fitter mentally and physically but some times you experience some patches on the road to success but I will always fight on.
“I want to keep building on what I am doing at the moment and I believe with hard work I will be my score more goals.”
