Reno Omokri, a former Media Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has berated the Nigerian Senate and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for not taking action against Senator Ovie Omo-Agege when he allegedly assaulted his colleagues and made away with the mace.
Omokri was reacting to the position taken by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the trending issue concerning Senator Elisha Abbo, who physically assaulted a lady in a sex toy shop in Abuja.
The National Working Committee of the PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, had on Wednesday said that as a law-abiding and upstanding party, it detests and completely condemns such act of lawlessness and callousness as exhibited in the video and will therefore never condone it.
The embattled senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District had since apologised to Nigerians, the PDP and women in general.
Following his apology, Omokri, who was among the first persons to condemn the lawmaker’s action, tweeted, “Omo Agege was accused of physically assaulting his colleagues and stealing the mace.
“The @NGRPresident & @OfficialAPCNg rewarded him with the Deputy @NGRSenate President.
“Abbo was similarly accused and @OfficialPDPNig condemned him and disciplined him.”
