The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sokoto state, Ambassador Abdullah Wali, has observed that political violence had become persistent in Nigeria because perpetrators of violence and their sponsors are not punished.
Wali further stated that Sokoto state will not experience any form of political violence in the forthcoming elections. He however decried the level of political upheavals currently playing out in the state.
The PDP candidate stated this in an interview with newsmen yesterday in Sokoto, adding that the peace accord signed in Sokoto State has not achieved its objectives.
On the chances of PDP at the state and the federal level, Wali argued that the party is now better positioned for victory than it was six weeks ago.
“I am concerned about the level of violence in the state; it is totally unacceptable.”
